According to the requirements of the new EU General Safety Regulation (GSR), from July 2024, all newly registered M and N vehicles must be equipped with a full range of European standard products that comply with EU regulations, including the intelligent vehicle front blind spot warning system (MOIS), intelligent vehicle side blind spot warning system (BSIS), rear monitoring and detection system (REIS/RVCS), driver distraction warning (ADDW) system, and intelligent speed assistance system (ISA). Starting from October 2024, the Direct Vision Standard (DVS) progressive safety system in London, UK will also be upgraded to PSS (ie DVS 2024 Progressive Safety System).
Successfully passed the vehicle test
In April, a domestic new energy vehicle company carried out vehicle certification with all EU regulatory products of AUTOEQUIPS. With the joint efforts of Chongqing China Automotive Research Institute, the OEM, AUTOEQUIPS and other parties, it successfully passed the vehicle test. In particular, in verifying the accuracy and reliability of the driver distraction warning system algorithm under the ADDW regulatory framework, the driver's distraction state is accurately tested through the line of sight angle and eye tracking function, and early warning signals are issued to help the driver drive safely. The system had this function as early as 2023 when the DDAW system (driver drowsiness and attention warning system) was launched. This marks that AUTOEQUIPS technical strength in the field of automotive safety, especially the forward-looking layout for EU regulatory products, has been verified and recognized again.
Facing the upgraded implementation of the new EU regulations, Chinese commercial vehicles will face more challenges in regulations and technical certification. However, for AUTOEQUIPS, a company with 20 years of experience in international vehicle manufacturer designated vehicle certification, it can provide strong support and guarantee for OEMs to enter overseas markets due to its high forward-looking prediction and recognition of EU regulations, combined with overseas market experience and professional technical strength. In response to the upgrade requirements of the entire series of European standard regulatory products, AUTOEQUIPS actively innovates. Through the technological breakthroughs and integration of AI algorithms, it can well meet the upgrade requirements of the entire series of European standard regulatory products such as UN ECE R151/R159/R158/PSS. In addition, it can also adapt different hardware solutions according to customer models to save costs for OEMs.
All of AUTOEQUIPS European standard products have system failure and self-test modes, and comply with extremely stringent international safety standards ISO21434 and ISO 26262 development processes, software updates and management. It is also the first company in China to comply with UN ECE R155 network security and UN ECE R156 software update (UDS update) development processes. It has rich practical experience and provides important support and reliable guarantees for automobile companies to enter overseas markets.
While international automakers are actively expanding their presence in the domestic market, Chinese commercial vehicle brands are increasingly gaining influence overseas. However, there is still much room for improvement in terms of market share in the global commercial vehicle market. This requires companies in China’s commercial vehicle industry chain to work harder and work harder to collaboratively realize the goal of making Chinese products on the global stage!
